Nanuet, New York- The 8th Annual Straight Pool Hall of Fame celebrated the inductions of Brooklyn's Cisero Murphy and Queens native George "Ginky" SanSouci. Hosted and catered by The Spot, the room was transformed beautifully for the occassion. Play was halted on Day 3 of the World 14.1 for a camaraderie dinner for the players and fans. A special tribute video was played for both legends who had passed away. Special speakers that night included Mika Immonen, Joey Korsiak, Charlie Williams and Tony Robles who stated, "Ginky came to me as a student to learn, but he eventually became one of my heroes." SanSouci's wife Athena Mennis accepted the award on behalf of her late husband.
Cisero Murphy's speakers included past 14.1 Hall of Fame inductee Pete Margo, pro tour peer Earl Herring, and Charlie Williams who stated "Any player of color, including Asians, owes a debt of gratitude to Cisero for paving the way in making pool a truly international sport." His award was accepted on behalf of his son Cisero Murphy Jr.
